Hello everyone! Mr. Hand would like to let you all know that starting in January 2012 we are taking a break from performing. We have no definite plans for how long or how short this break will be. Only that after 16 years of playing without any extended breaks, we sure could use it, and need a nice break.

We made our Sioux City debut with our newest member, Mike Fitzpatrick, on January 28th & 29th. And what a weekend is was! Great crowds both nights helped to make the weekend memorable. We’ll be back at Rhonda’s on April 1st & 2nd. See you there!
Show Report: Rhonda’s Speakeasy
We stopped at Rhonda’s Speakeasy for a couple nights right after Thanksgiving. It was just the thing for our turkey hangovers. In fact, a good time at Rhonda’s can cure just about anything that ails you!

Show Report: Rhonda’s Speakeasy
After a couple months away, we returned to Rhonda’s Speakeasy in Sioux City, IA. We always know what to expect when we go to Rhonda’s – good friends, good times and cold beer! It’s those reasons that keep us coming back. This weekend was no different and we had a great time debuting a handful of new cover songs.
Show Report: Rhonda’s Speakeasy
We had a fun and interesting time at Rhonda’s Speakeasy this past weekend. First off we pretty much always have a good time there, but this time Rhonda was throwing a Prom Theme party on the Saturday night.
Now Mr. Hand has played our fair share of proms over the years, but this was certainly the most interesting! Adults digging out prom gowns and suits to relive those old prom memories. Needless to say it was quite fun and we did our part and “dressed up” for the event as well…check out the pictures!
Show Report: Rhonda’s Speakeasy
We’re a little bit late filing this report, but nonetheless we had a fun weekend at Rhonda’s Speakeasy 2 weekends back. We were graced by the presence of our good friend Angie from North Carolina, a wild bachelorette party, and many of our Sioux City friends! Definitely a weekend we won’t soon forget!
Check out the pictures below…there’s even an appearance by our favorite bar owner Rhonda Capron! Mark your calendars now, we return to Rhonda’s on July 9th & 10th.
Show Report: Rhonda’s Speakeasy
A return visit to Rhonda’s Speakeasy was in order. It had been a couple months, but playing there never felt so good. We were able to debut a few more original songs including “The Color Blue,” “Someone New,” “Second Start,” and ” New Fix.” We’re eager to get these new songs recorded but it was great being able to share them with our Sioux City friends.
All in all it was a very good weekend, we really appreciate everyone that made it out to party with us. We can’t wait to do it again! In fact, we won’t have to wait too long as we’ll be back at Rhonda’s on May 14th & 15th. Mark your calendars now!
Show Report: Rhonda’s Speakeasy
A couple holiday parties, good friends and family all added up to a wild time at Rhonda’s Speakeasy this past weekend. We had great fun rockin’ and it was obvious that everyone is feeling the holiday spirit. Thanks to all who made it out and helped create such a fun atmosphere at Rhonda’s. We really appreciate it and can’t wait to see all of our Sioux City area friends again in 2010!
Remembering our friend Claudia
One of the great things about being in this band is that we get to meet so many wonderful people. One of those people was Claudia Trujillo.

Claudia used to come out to nearly all our shows in Sioux City at Rhonda’s Speakeasy, Icky Nickel, The Patio, etc. She would even drive over to Norfolk or West Point and other places just to hear us play some music. But the best thing about seeing Claudia at a show was that meant we got the chance to talk about what was going on. She’d teach Conrad new things to say in Spanish and we’d talk about all kinds of music and our favorite concerts.
We learned of her love for Walt Disney, Brian Wilson, The Beatles, Queens of the Stone Age, and art. We eventually discovered that she had a pretty good singing voice. So we would have her join us on stage to sing Pat Benatar’s Hit Me With Your Best Shot.
Here’s an mp3 of her singing with us. Mr. Hand with Claudia singing Hit Me With Your Best Shot.

Over the years we shared many good laughs.
Today we learned that Claudia died due to a medical complication. She was only 29. It doesn’t seem real or fair. Our hearts go out to her family and friends.
Rest in Peace Claudia. It won’t be the same without you.
Show Report: Rhonda’s Speakeasy
You know that feeling you get when you go back home and see family and old friends? That’s pretty much what it’s like for us when we play at Rhonda’s Speakeasy in Sioux City, IA. Only this time it had been 7 months since our last visit! Shame, shame, shame.
Needless to say this past weekend at Rhonda’s didn’t disappoint! So many familiar faces made it a great time and gave us a chance to catch up with those we hadn’t seen in a while. Plus, we had a special treat with Mo Doogus opening the night on Saturday!
Thanks to everyone who made it out – it was great to see ya! Be sure to check out the pics.
